“I was blown away by the questions from the students, their sophistication, and the level of understanding of what is going on in the world today…it reminds those of us working on these issues of what we’re doing in our work at the UN – we’re representing these students as well, and their curiosity about the world and their concern for the future is both inspiring and motivating.”
— Ambassador Michele Sison
Building off the results of the Millennium Development Goals, the members of the UN General Assembly united in September 2015 to adopt seventeen new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals include ending extreme poverty in our time and combating climate change and its impacts. Starting this month, these Global Goals kick in, and member states move toward implementing them over the next 15 years.
